Centre Safety COVID Protocol
The following requirements are in accordance to the Public Health Unit for Leeds, Grenville & Lanark:
At the centre:
- Monitor max. 20 individuals in centre at one time
- Require health screens from all who enter centre – including youth and staff; both will have sign in sheets where they will verify that they are symptom free
- Markers on floors to ensure physical distancing (2m)
- Hand Sanitizer at both doors for entry/exits
- Adhere to strict cleaning regiment: disinfection of all frequently touched surfaces and bathrooms occurs throughout opening hours; and a deeper clean of the centre happens twice a day after both the daytime school program and later again after our youth drop in.
- PPE is provided for all staff and made available to youth: masks and gloves
- Dinners are offered in and outside between 4-6; take away options have been added; indoor dining occurs with 6 ft. distance between participants
- Signage:
- front door – list of symptoms/screening; max capacity, social distancing
- bathroom – outlining how to wash hands properly
For Staff ONLY
- Complete formal screening process before coming to work
- Training provided on proper use of PPE, hand hygiene & COVID-19 guidance for sector & public health guidance
- If become sick at work, must notify supervisor and leave immediately
RULES of the Centre in response to COVID-19:
- Maintain physical distancing of at least 2 meters (6 feet) for everyone
- Practice good hygiene & build in good hygiene practices for participants (wash hands with soap & water for 20 seconds, or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol)
- Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
- Avoid high-touch areas, where possible, or ensure you clean your hands after
- Practice regular cleaning & disinfection
- Stay home if you are sick
- Wash your clothes as soon as you get home
- If you cannot maintain physical distance use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Actively screen yourself before coming into the centre
- Organizational protocol if a child/youth becomes sick while at the centre they will be put into a separate space until they are able to be picked up
- During all shifts, frequently touched surfaces need to be disinfected
